Tonight, the Scout section visited the Luton Airport Fire station. After security, we were escorted to the fire station, where we received a safety brief. We had a look at a map of the airport and the scouts then realised that it was not as small as they thought. Next was a PowerPoint covering items like the fire triangle and Stop Drop and Roll. We then split into four groups to have a look around. The watchtower is manned 24 hours a day with a hotline to the control tower and a fab runway view. The scouts got the chance to look inside a panther and operated the aerial water cannon. The scouts (and Young Leaders) got to try on a set of BE (Breathing Apparatus). The last stop of the tour was a demonstration of the fire triangle. A big thank you to Richard Sharples and The Airport Fire Station for hosting us tonight. #lutonairport #LutonAirportFireStation #scouts
