Scouts Monopoly Challenge, London 2019

This years London Monopoly Challenge was on Sunday 19th May and a beautiful day it was. 22 Scouts and Leaders met early 8am to book Rail Travelcards for the day before setting off for London and the start of the challenge.

Scouts and Leaders were split into 3 teams to complete the challenge of touring around London finding streets, attractions and sites based on the Monopoly board game, photography their team in front of each and complete an emoji quiz for extra points.

Each location was scored based on difficulty of travel and distance. Of they set, some in a hurry, some a little slower, but all with their own routes planned on the train down to London.

A plan was also drafted to meet up at Leicester Square for lunch at 1pm.

I can only go by the team I was with did, but they definitely set off at some pace. Quick points were gained within a few minutes and a short walk, then onto the underground to tour the sites, visit tourist spots and gain more points.

Lunchtime came quickly around and when all the teams met up a quick scan of the points showed a draw between 2 teams with the third just behind.

Food (Mcd's) eaten apart from Lauren Denyer who had her chips!! when a pigeon decided to drop a load on them from a great height!! and off we set again for the second half of the challenge.

Some great tourist sites were seen, pictures taken and points gained. The Dome costs £36 to climb!!!! for info. and we met up again at Kings Cross station for the trip home.

Back in Luton a little late due to one team being delayed at meeting up time, parents picked up young people and we were finished.

Lots of pictures were taken and are shown below but overall a great day this year and something we will repeat yearly.

The scores on the doors were counted for the next Friday meeting and with some clever adjustments meant that all the teams came out with the same scores at 345 points each, a draw all round but a fantastic days site seeing for all.
